This is one of those things that you definitely tick off your bucket list, santorini wedding photography has definitely been on mine for a while. I first met Patricia & Fernando on skype a while back and we chatted about their day and instantly connected, they lead a fascinating life living in China. Their wedding was so intimate with just a handful of their closest family and friends joining them in idyllic Santorini for their Wedding. All made possible by a fantastic wedding planner – Maria from tie the knot santorini, as you can imagine organising a destination wedding in a foreign country can be daunting for many couples and what I’m learning is that having a planner is exactly the way to go. It also makes my job super easy on the day 🙂

I almost died on the spot when I saw Patricias stunning Vera Wang gown, luscious folds of fabric that were just so flattering on her – it was as if the dress was made for her and santorini. The only person more floored than me was of course Fernando himself, looking equally as dashing.

These two knew the photography was important to them from the get-go and trusted me completely, even starting their reception at quite a late hour so that I could photograph them at sunset! Now that’s a dream couple for a photographer. I had the tiniest rental car on the island so getting Patricias big gorgeous gown into the backseat along with Fernando was a little amusing! They married cliffside at Santo Winery overlooking the caldera on one of the islands trademark crystal-clear days. It really is impossible to take a bad photograph on this island! If you visit Santorini there is one restaurant I insist you eat at – the very restaurant where they held their reception. Seaside by Notos, tables on the sand and the most exotic and beautiful menu possible. They finished the evening with a little bit of a twist by releasing sky lanterns on the beach, I don’t think this day could have been more perfect. Santorini wedding photography can be a challenge, but I certainly hope I get to return.

This year I had the pleasure of heading to Santorini to be an honorary greek island wedding photographer for Priscilla and Andrew. With Greek backgrounds they thought that Greece would be the perfect destination for their gorgeous intimate wedding and were joined by close family and friends. This dream wedding was created by Stella & Moscha, luxury wedding planners in Santorini with the utmost attention to style and detail.

It was so fascinating to document a traditional greek orthodox ceremony in one of the most beautiful churches I’ve had the honour of stepping foot in. Priscilla was led to the church through the winding streets by a traditional Greek Kraximo player and crowds of tourists congratulated her along the way! Andrew was patiently waiting at the church already with the bouquet to gift to his beautiful bride in greek tradition, they then entered the church together. I particularly adored this bouquet – a mix of Peonies and other exotic flowers hard to come by in more mainland areas.

After the ceremony we were whisked away down to the seaside for a sunset cruise on the Caldera aboard the Pegasus where the newlyweds toasted with champagne and I took the opportunity to snap a few portraits. They also had their first dance at sea to Endless Love by  Lionel Richie & Diana Ross (which must have been the captains choice haha) They returned for an intimate seafood dinner in Ammoudi bay to finish off a perfect day.

The next day we shot a quick honeymoon session too capturing a bit more of the island that we weren’t able to cover on the wedding day including a remarkable sunset over the caldera – make sure you scroll to the end!

New Zealand beach wedding photography is something I get to do almost every summer, however this particular shoot was very special for a few reasons. I met Tash over a year ago when she first enquired for some family portraits – the rest from here is really history. Sometimes you meet people who are just so open and wonderful that you then go on to practically become part of their family, and that’s exactly what ensued. Both Tash and Mikes family welcomed me with open arms and now I feel like I photograph an event with them every other weekend!

These two got engaged…wait for it – On top of Mt Everest! After Mike being extremely nervous but  Tash convinced that he had altitude sickness  they finally made it to the top after a gruelling journey. Mike popped the question with the beautiful stone that you see around Tash’s neck which she then had made into a necklace. The beach that they married on is steeped in history for the two of them as they met there as surf lifesavers all those years ago.

I always have such a laugh with these two and I know I will for years to come.

Las Vegas Wedding Photography instantly stirs up ideas of Elvis, copious amounts of alcohol and a buffet dinner. Well this couldn’t be farther from the truth for Beth & Ryans stylish Vegas Wedding. I want to start by thanking a very good friend and beautiful soul, Bailey for recommending me to these two 🙂 I do love a destination wedding for more than the obvious reason (an amazing place!) but the intimacy of it all. Beth and Ryan had 20 of their closest friends and family join them over in Las Vegas.

There’s no way you’re going to miss Beth wherever she goes. I’ll never forget our first meeting –  it was like meeting this glamorous vixen from another era with this shock of pink hair and skin like milk. Of course instantly you just want to photograph her! So being able to photograph not only Beth but her marriage and these amazing moments with her new husband Ryan in an incredible place was an absolute joy. Their Wedding was held at the stunning MGM forever grand wedding chapel followed by some laid back drinks until we ventured out into the desert. Never have I been so paranoid about the Grooms attire! Ryan’s white suit was just asking for trouble in the red, sandy desert of Nevada.

These two are gorgeous inside and out and I had an amazing couple of days with them in the craziest place on earth!I sincerely hope I get to return to Las Vegas at some point for another Wedding, there really is no place like it.

I really love a Woodlands Wedding, it’s a beautiful historic venue just outside of Hamilton that has so much charm i can see why it’s popular with couples. Kayla and Troy’s Wedding was the last of my New Zealand season for this summer so it feels a little sad to be writing this!

These two are so laid back they’re practically horizontal and Kayla has to be the calmest bride I’ve ever had! She was so organised down to every detail that she had nothing to worry about on the day. A favourite moment was watching her (still in pyjamas) excitedly watch Troy and the boys arrive in their Mustang in the driveway below from the window.

It was a May wedding so we had beautiful autumn light the whole day and just the perfect amount of it, I adored Kayla’s vintage birdcage veil and demure makeup done by Kady Brown of be beautiful. Her chosen colour of yellow couldn’t be a better reflection of this happy day and the way she tied it through the decor was perfect.

It was an absolute privilege to be a part of this gorgeous couple’s wedding journey – right from the engagement session in the surf on a west coast beach through to seeing them just so besotted with each other on the big day.
