A country wedding is amongst my favourite – perhaps because I grew up in a semi-rural town. When I first met with Kate about her ideas for her Wedding over a year ago i knew this was a girl with impeccable taste and style and I had to shoot her Wedding! She definitely did not disappoint aesthetically, but more than that Kate and Michaels wedding day was one full of tears and emotion. The whole wedding took place at Kates parents place in Tuakau south of Auckland, a new concrete floor was laid in the barn especially for the occasion and the love and labour that went into bringing this beautiful wedding to life is remarkable. When I arrived in the morning Kate’s sister in law was already hanging what seemed to be miles of bunting sewn by a family friend along the ambling driveway, Kates bridesmaid and creative mastermind Meisha did all of the elegant, rustic stationery design as well as the makeup for the bridesmaids. One of my favourite florists Suzie from the blossom room created Kates vibrant bouquet as well as her floral crown and the rest of the floral styling seen throughout the barn. This wedding was truly a labour of love and I had an amazing day laughing and capturing the family and friends, many of which I knew from growing up in the area which is always a great privilege.
