Fiji Wedding photography is a beautiful experience, I was lucky enough to spend Easter with Rebecca and Ash over in the Fiji Islands with their closest family and friends to capture their perfect paradise wedding. You may remember Becky and Ash from their gorgeous desert road engagement session we shot in Taupo a couple of months back in freezing temperatures! Their wedding weather was a welcome change!
The beautiful Intercontinental resort was the venue for the big day. I love a destination wedding because family and friends spend a good few days together in celebration and in this case that involved dinners, fishing excursions, snorkelling, swimming and all together just good holiday behaviour! The morning of the Wedding I spent an hour documenting Ash and the guys playing a round of golf at the nearby Natadola golf resort before returning to capture the girls being absolutely pampered in the orchid room of the Intercontinental spa. I don’t know if it was Fiji or Rebecca’s ability to put absolutely anyone at ease – but their wasn’t an ounce of stress to be found the entire day!
Behind sunglasses for the gorgeous weather, Becky had everyone in tears and I swear I heard an actual crowd-wide gasp of delight as she appeared in her Cristina Rossi gown at the end of the aisle accompanied of course by her Father but also two Fijian warriors! A divine plated three course reception followed at the sophisticated Navo restaurant hosted by one of the most talented and lovely MC’s I’m yet to meet – Bryan. After the cake cutting things got let a little loose with traditional island dancers pulling the guys up and pulling their shirts off for a bit of a dance off! (fear not I haven’t included these in the blog post!) Impressive fire dancers then entertained guests for the evening before a very romantic first dance from the couple themselves.
Becky and Ash, thank you so much for choosing me to document this incredible journey for you, and to their family and friends thanks for putting up with me and my camera all weekend! I must also give a huge thank you to my lovely assistant and one of my favourite people Renee for flying out with me to help out at this wedding too – I couldn’t have done it without you 🙂
