This is quite an unusual blog post – it’s not often I photograph a couple on their honeymoon as well as their Wedding but this is exactly what happened with Emma and Rex! They spent their honeymoon down in picturesque Queenstown where I also happened to be at the same time!. We took the opportunity to meet up again to capture a few special portraits for them again on a brisk sunset evening.
I first had the pleasure of meeting Emma as a bridesmaid at another Wedding I documented a little over a year ago at Woodlands historic house in the Waikato, Aimee and Josh. Emma is possibly one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met, her sincerity and kind nature comes through the moment she brings you in for a big warm hug. So you can imagine my excitement when she contacted me to ask me to document her Wedding to the equally sweet, Rex. They married on a hot day at Zen Gardens, a photographers dream of a venue with so much natural light and beautiful textures everywhere! I do so love a Garden Wedding, we are so lucky to have the climate and more often than not the summers to have them every weekend here in New Zealand.
I was joined at both the Wedding and the honeymoon (never thought I’d type that!) by my very good friend and talented fellow photographer Helen Abraham who ventured over from London to spend some time on this side of the globe shooting with me.
