Indian Wedding photography is colourful, vibrant and a little spectacular, so when Paresh approached me a little under a year ago about photographing their Wedding I was instantly excited. Being Indian myself of course benefited me as I knew what to expect from this emotional day. Paresh and Nelish are both from Auckland and decided very early on in their engagement that they would have a traditional hindu ceremony followed by a kiwi civil ceremony too. This of course equates to a very long, very beautiful day! The lovely Becky Casto second shot this wedding with me, we started early in the day with prep at the bride and grooms and I was super excited to be able to shoot a first look for this Wedding as they would see each other before the ceremony. The first look and portrait session with the bridal party took place at the Winter Gardens in Auckland and the anticipation on Paresh’s face as he knew he was about to see his bride for the first time is something I’ll never forget.
Their traditional hindu ceremony was held at the mandir on balmoral road, and the reception that followed at the Wharf, which was experiencing gale force winds as you’ll see from the latter pictures! Nelly wore traditional red and gold for her hindu ceremony and changed into a stunning white lehenga for her civil later on in the afternoon.
It was such a pleasure to be invited to share this incredibly special day with your families Paresh & Nelly, both of your families made me feel completely welcome and like I’d known you all for a lifetime! I hope you enjoy these images for many years to come.
