Last month I had the honour of travelling to a tiny little seaside town for Siobhan & Adrians italian destination wedding. And it was perfect, every moment I captured, every delicious morsel I ate and every ray of sunshine. I had never visited Santa Maria, a beautiful, happy town on the Italian coast. The people really make this town – it radiates, the whole day was spent receiving well wishes from locals, being waved at and fighting to pay full price from the friendly restauranteurs.
Siobhan and Adrian and around twenty of their closest family and friends travelled from Ireland to Italy for this intimate event, aided and created by the wonderful Julie of My Secret Italy. I’ve literally never seen a wedding planner so passionate about what she does and Julie really helped me do my job in the best way possible.
The night before the Wedding we had a pizza night on the waterfront getting to know everyone (for me) and just relaxing before the big event. Walking around the little cobbled roads and restaurants you honestly feel like you’re on a movie set for some Italian romance drama. The day of the Wedding had so many lovely suprises it felt quite daunting thinking back over it all – in a good way of course. One of my favourite moments without a doubt was the middle of the day between the ceremony and the reception. The guests had made their way down from the Church at Castellabate for gelato and the Italian beach football finals happen to be on the same beach. Our lovely musicians managed to get Siobhan and Adrian out onto the pitch and Siobhan, being an ex-gaelic football player, even got to have a kick! The crowd absolutely loved them.
A day full of laughter, water fights, ice cream, beautiful vows, bubbles, champagne and more delicious italian food than you can poke a stick at. I would capture it all over again in a heartbeat, thank you to Siobhan and Adrian, Julie and all the family and friends.
