This riverside engagement session features the lovely Rebekah and Matt whom I had the pleasure of meeting just over a year ago. I actually attended high school and remain friends with Matts sister Laura and travelled to Rarotonga in October to document her wedding! It’s always extra special when I get to photograph people from my home town. It’s easily one of the best parts of my job – when I attend a wedding and there are already so many familiar faces, not only does it make the job easier but I feel like I’m continuously attending one big gorgeous family reunion.
We didn’t venture far for this session and it’s just on the banks of the waikato river. I know I’ve said this time and time again but we really do live in a wonderful country where locations like this are always just a stones throw away. We had a beautiful evening and the entire area to ourselves, bar a few thousand mosquitos who did get a small feast sadly. The local bridge pictured here is quite iconic in the area and I feel silly that I’ve never thought of shooting on it previously – it really is a remarkable structure.
These guys tie the knot this Saturday in the Coromandel and I’m dying to see this gorgeous girl in her dress!
