If there’s one tradition kiwis from the north island of New Zealand proudly uphold and look forward to every year – it’s long hot summers spent in the Coromandel. I’m sure Becky & Matt planned their Whitianga beach wedding with this history in mind and it was an absolute joy to be there.
These two are from my hometown so it was a very special wedding for me to be lucky enough to document – Matts sister is a good friend of mine and I knew alot of the friends and family in attendance. Making it even more of a joy. Becky caused an absolute stir when I posted pictures of their engagement session earlier in the year – I’m sure you’ll agree she is a real natural beauty.
They chose to get married beachfront with a simple outdoor ceremony with their nearest and dearest, from there we took advantage of the many beautiful bays that Whitianga offers for their portraits. I must give the bridesmaids a special shout out here for braving sets of stairs down to the beach in stilettos! Absolute troopers you ladies, and much appreciated.
From there we boarded Beckys fathers boat to ferry us across to their marina-side reception to dance the night away with family and friends after a beautiful meal. All in all a perfect day really.
