To say I’ve been excited about blogging this beautiful garden wedding of Annelise & Ryan would be a vast understatement. I warn you – this is probably the most images I’ve ever put into a blog so I apologise in advance for the RSI in your wrist you’re going to get from scrolling your mouse. But I digress, I met Annelise when we were both working together about five years ago – at the time in marketing and I never would have thought that one day I would be photographing her Wedding. Over the years as we’ve moved through life to very different places and our friendship has grown and I am truly blessed to have friends like Annelise & Ryan. It was Annelise who first modelled for me and had faith in me all along – her beauty is both inside and out. This is the kind of Wedding that when you turn up to photograph it you feel like you’ve won the lottery – Annelise’s parents are avid gardeners and her mother Lee Burton is a talented landscape architect. Shooting the preparation and spending the morning with the girls at her beautiful home was such a treat as visually it was just gorgeous.
Food and style were always going to be of utmost importance for these two, with their day job being the owners and running a successful Auckland cafe – the perfect combination really! Suffice to say I ate rather well at this wedding. The beautiful grounds that it took place at is actually Annelises father Graeme and his partner Val’s lifestyle block out the back of the Waikato. I literally haven’t seen Annelise and Ryan for a single weekend in the past six months as they tirelessly pruned, planted and trimmed alongside Graeme and Val who worked around the clock! If they ever wanted to open a wedding venue I think they would be fully booked! As you can imagine a very talented team of creative people contributed to this day however I’m most grateful to Helen Abraham of Helen Abraham Photography, incredible friend and brilliant photographer who spent some time here with me from London and second shot this wedding with me.
